Van Lent and Torstenson win the CSIU25 classes!
The starting signal was given this morgning at the Ramiro Z arena with a CSIU25 1m30 class. In this two phase special we saw an integral Belgian stage. Maverick van Lent was much faster than the competition with a 2.5 second lead. Van Lent could count on Gieke de Cour au Bois, a daughter of For Passion d'Ive Z, with whom he finished in 28.58 seconds. Mathieu-Maxim Goossens took second place. He finished in 31.06 seconds with his gelding Ghostbuster (Indoctro x Chin Chin). Elodie Guillaume completed the podium. She could count on her mare Mirra (Baedeker x Carthago), with whom she managed to set a finish time of 31.23 seconds.
Also for the CSIU25 1m35 class, course designer Bernard Matthy had provided a two phase special. This time the win was for the Swede Joel Torstenson. Torstenson finished the course quick and clear with his mare Il Rossa Di Costa (Hooch DK x Pierrot) in 35.05 seconds. He was closely followed by the Swiss lady rider Morgane Dassio who finished in 35.15 seconds with her chestnut mare Dyrka Du Carry (Siryus De Bavoz x Ruyblas). Finally, the French lady rider Charlotte Spaas Levallois took home the third place. She finished with Jonas du Petit Vivier (Nonstop x Perhaps vh Molenvondel) in 36.46 seconds.
The six-year-old horses also competed again today in the CSIYH 6-year-olds class. Here it was Anthony Wellens who managed to cash in his third victory in Lanaken. With Quinao v/d Potaarde (Prince van de Wolfsakker x Le Tot de Semilly) he finished effortlessly in 26 seconds round and thus remained well ahead of the competition. For the French lady rider Laura Monier there was a second place. She managed to win the class yesterday with Amira, a bay daughter of All Music x Damarco, but today she had to acknowledge her superior in Wellens and Quinao in 27.88 seconds. The Swedish lady rider Kim Martén took third place. She finished with Aristocrat (Armitago x Numero Uno) in 28.30 seconds.
Furthermore, there were also two CSI1* 1m15 classes on the program. In this table A directly on time we saw a Danish lady rider taking the win in the first part. Rosemarie Heering called on Luigi (Lamentos x Concetto), who brought her to the finish line in 56.97 seconds. For the Dutch lady rider Sofie van den Broek there was a second place in 58.56 seconds with the Zangersheide bred Cupcake Z. This Chacco Blue x Caretano Z daughter was bred by the Wilmes family. Third place also went to a Z horse thanks to the Irish lady rider Rachel Gredley and her Alicante Z (Air Jordan Z x Darco). The breeding product of Jannie Weisbjerg finished in 59.97 seconds.
In the second part there was another Belgian victory thanks to lady rider Marie-Maxence Bouckaert. She took home the gold in 57.19 seconds and thus led an integral female podium with Dilemne de la Licorne (Jacco x Osmium). For the Dutch Kelly van Wijk there was a second place in 58.82 seconds with Kitona De Muze, a daughter of Vigo d'Arsouilles x Tinka's Boy. Finally, Belgium's lady rider Chloe Vicini was able to take third place. She finished with Jackpot du Bois Madame (Peppermill x Elvis Ter Putte) in 61.19 seconds.
The day ended at the Almé Z arena with a CSI1* 1m25 class. In this two phase special, it was the Belgian lady rider Florence de Radigues who took the win. She therefore saddled Kiss Me DV (Ustinov x Cartier vd Heffinck) and finished in 28.31 seconds with the 12-year-old bay mare. The Austrian Benjamin Saurugg finished just under 16 hundredths slower with the Zangersheide bred Chique PS Z. This daughter of Crowntano Z x Quidam De Revel was bred by Peter Simons and convincingly took second place. Third place also went to a Z horse thanks to Philip Gysbrechts and his home-bred Qute of Greenhill Z. This daughter of Quilimbo x Clintissimo Z finished in 28.65 seconds.
