After the five-year-old horses had to complete a clear round during both the qualifications in the past two days, today they jumped for a ranking during their consolation. At the Almé Z Arena it was Tom Sneppe who flex to the victory with the Zangersheide mare Camille van de Lentakker Z, a daughter of Comme Il Faut and Prince de Revel who was bred by Luc De Reviere. Sneppe and Camille van de Lentakker Z have already won several international classes in recent months, including in Knokke, Lier, Bornival and Bonheiden, and confirm their good form with a victory in this consolation for 5-year-old horses. They finished in 63.15 seconds and with that they finished just under half a second ahead of the competition.
In second place we saw the Irish rider Michael Pender with the Irish-bred gelding HHS Tokyo, a son of Z7 Ascot out of the Catoki Z-mare HHS Fortune with whom he is currently jumping at 1.50m level. Pender, who two years ago still managed to win silver in the finals for both the five- and six-year-old horses finished in 63.58 seconds and with that he had to take peace with the first place of honour again.
For the Dutch rider Joost Martens there was a 3rd place with the Zangersheide mare Cereza Z, a daughter of Chester Z and Caretano Z who was bred by Sandra Van den Broek-Wilmes. Martens and Cereza Z managed to stop the clock in 64.40 seconds.
Matthias Hens and the AES mare Maria, bred by Harrie Theeuwes and Marc Royer, were good for am 4th place. The Belgian rider sent the daughter of Marshal Fields 111 and Chopin van het Moleneind to the finish in 65.07 seconds. Finally, in fifth place, we saw another Belgian rider with Jose Thiry. He finished in 65.54 seconds with the AES mare Laville Topfok, a daughter of Lavillon and Bentley van de Heffinck who was bred by BVBA Topfok.
