Excellent start for Guy Janssens!

After a two-year absence, the first week of our three-week Z-Tour was officially launched this afternoon at 1 pm. During this opening day, the Ramiro Z Arena was reserved for the opening classes for the young horses and Guy Janssens immediately impressed with a victory and on top of that a second place.

In the class for 7-year-old horses, for example, he became the winner with the gelding Klaas B (Eldorado van de Zeshoek x Burggraaf – B: F.A.J. Van Der Burg). A Barema special in two phases was scheduled for the 7-year-old horses and with a finish time of 27.68 seconds in the second phase, Janssens and Klaas B finished more than half a second ahead of the competition.

For the Brazilian rider João Victor Castro there was a second place with the mare Pokerface GV (Dieu-Merci by T&L x Drossan – B: Guy Verberckmoes). They managed to set a time of 28.26 seconds in that second phase. With a finish time of 28.27 seconds, third place went to the Dutch rider Bas Moerings and this with the mare Kivinia (I'M Special de Muze x Calido – B: G.J.A. Moerings).

6 year old horses

However, this afternoon it were the 6-year-old horses that were the first to enter the ring and Guy Janssens already managed to jump into the spotlight here. He became second here with the Zangersheide-approved stallion Energy van ’t Breezerhof Z (Emerald van ’t Ruytershof x Bentley van de Heffinck – B: Wim van Hoof) after a clear second phase in 28.12 seconds.

The victory here went to the Dutch lady rider Manon Hees with the mare La Nulana K (Douglas VDL x Numero Uno). Hees rushed in the second phase to the finish line in 27.85 seconds and so became the first winner of this Z-tour. Finally, the German rider Michael Jung also managed to secure a podium place. He was sitting in the saddle of the gelding Qwatt (Qualito x Grandeur – B: H. & W. Wilking) with whom he set a time of 28.19 seconds.
