Patrick Stühlmeyer wins the main class!
With no less than 10 classes on the program, today was a particularly busy day during this second day of the Z-tour 2022 week two. The centrally located Ratina Z Arena was completely reserved for the classes of the CSI3* competition and the main class this afternoon was a 1.50m high speed class. And here it was the German Patrick Stühlmeyer who claimed the victory with the 11-year-old mare Carmina 51 (Casall x Cassini I). Stühlmeyer appeared quite early in the ring and with a convincing finish time of 62.64 seconds he finished almost one and a half seconds ahead of the competition.
Anthony Wellens confirmed his good form here with a second place. This time he was in the saddle of the 12-year-old gelding Domenco (Umex Sport Cornet's Stern x Argelith Stakkato), whom he managed to guide to the finish line in 64.08 seconds. Third place went to the Dutchman Piet Raijmaker Jr., who also won a few classes last week during the opening week. He appeared in the ring with the 11-year-old stallion Van Schijndel's Gladstone (Grison van den Bisschop) with whom he set a time of 64.97 seconds.
New victory for Anthony Wellens
What just didn't work out for Anthony Wellens during the 1.50m main class, he succeeded earlier in the day in the 1.45m class. Just like yesterday, he was the winner with his 10-year-old chestnut stallion Danger Civil vh Lindenhof Z (Diamant de Semilly x Silvio I – B: Jean Pierre Bosch). Wellens kept it clear in both the first and the second phase and with a time of 31.03 seconds he recorded his second victory in a row.
The second place went to the Dutch rider Gerben Morsink with the 8-year-old Zangersheide mare Carina Z (Carthino Z x Guidam – B: J.R.J.Evenhuis & L.G.Morsink). Morsink also managed to ensure a flawless round in both phases, only he took just a little longer than Wellens in 32.48 seconds. The Swedish lady rider Emma Emanuelsson completed the podium here in third place. She managed to set a time of 34.91 seconds with the 10-year-old mare Centicco Pearl (Centadel x Chacco Blue) and with that she just beat the French rider Robinson Maupiler and our 10-year-old stallion Zandor Alpha Z (Zeus x Polydor – B: Maria Lelieveld) from the podium.
Morning class
The day started this morning at the Ratina Z Arena with a 1.40m class against the clock in which it was the fast Swiss Pius Schwizer who secured the first victory of the day. He was in the saddle of the 14-year-old gelding H5 Zapzerap (Zapatero x Ramiro) and with a finish time of 52.83 seconds he managed to keep the competition behind him with great conviction.
The second place here went to Belgium and Dries Dekkers took care of that with the 11-year-old mare Agnes (Algot 1182 x Ampere). Dekkers made a more than deserving attempt, but with his time of 56.78 seconds he clearly had to recognize the superiority in Schwizer. The Dutch lady rider Megan Laseur followed Dekkers in third place in the standings. She finished in 57.31 seconds and could count on the 9-year-old gelding It's A Walk In The Park (Numero Uno x Calvados).
Wellens again second
Because there were already three CSI3* classes on the program at the Ratina Z Arena today, two more classes also took place at the Almé Z Arena. This morning the first class of the day was a 1.30m special in two phases and here it was the Swedish rider Peter Eriksson who became the final laureate with the 9-year-old gelding Alred (Lordanos x Dagomba). Eriksson raced to the finish line in 28.38 seconds in the second phase, earning him more than a full second ahead of his closest pursuer.
Also in this class the second place went to Anthony Wellens who was here in the saddle of the 8-year-old gelding Vigoreux de Liebri Z (Vigo d'Arsouilles x Canturo). Wellens kept the double clear and needed 29.39 seconds to complete his second phase. British rider Joseph Clayton was good for a third place in the standings. He was in the saddle of the 10-year-old Hobalo (Bubalu VDL x Ukato), whom he managed to lead clear to the finish in 29.54 seconds.
Netherlands above!
The last CSI3* class to be held this afternoon was a 1.35m class against the clock. Here it were the Dutch combinations that managed to dominate, led by lady rider Kim Emmen and the 12-year-old mare Farah (Arezzo VDL x Concorde). The duo, who also finished second in the 1.30m class yesterday, managed to stop the clock in 57.05 seconds and thus took the victory this time.
Her compatriot Piet Raijmakers Jr. managed to take second place with his 8-year-old mare Jadzia (Van Schijndel's Rascin x Vittorio). He finished in 57.62 seconds and with that he was more than half a second short of pushing Emmen off the grid. Finally, the third place was colored by Belgian lady rider Karen Oris and her 10-year-old mare Mali d'Or (Emerald van 't Ruytershof). She crossed the finish line in 58.03 seconds.
