Excellent start for Aurelia Guisson!

Under a radiant sun, the start of the third and last week of our Z-Tour 2022 kicked off this afternoon on our beautiful domain in Lanaken. At 12:00 o’clock it were the riders of the CSIU25 competition who appeared as first in the ring at the Ramiro Z Arena. During this opening class over a height of 1.30m, it was the Belgian lady rider Aurelia Guisson who secured a convincing victory with her 13-year-old grey mare Berlini From Second Life Z (Berlin x Caretano Z –B: Thierry and Sandra Hendrikx). In a class against the clock, Guisson rushed to the finish in 52.86 seconds, giving her just under five full seconds ahead of the competition.

The German rider Tobias Klostermann was the closest to Guisson. He finished in 57.77 seconds with the 9-year-old gelding Aron (Abke 4 x Monte Bellini) and with that he clearly had to recognize his superiority in the Belgian youth rider, who won individual bronze last summer during the European Championship for Juniors in Vilamoura. . Third place was again for Belgian thanks to Roy van Beek and the 8-year-old mare Oilily (Galisco Van Paemel x Hamlet). Van Beek also managed to keep it clear in this speed class and this in a time of 58.37 seconds.

Matheus Corrêa wins in the 6-year-olds

At the Almé Z Arena, also the young horses appeared for the first time in the ring during this opening day. In the class for 6-year-old horses, it was the Brazilian rider Matheus Corrêa who became the winner with the Zangersheide mare Chic Olympique de Kreisker Z Imperio Egipicio (Cornet Obolensky x Tinka's Boy – B: Elevage de Kreisker ). Corrêa crossed the finish line in 60.74 seconds and with that he was more than a full second ahead of the competition.

Second place went to the Belgian lady rider Caitlin Liefsoens with the gelding Vincenzo vh Legitahof Z (Vigo d'Arsouilles x Berlin – F: Lg-Training & Legitahof). She also managed to keep all the poles in the cups and she reached the finish in a time of 61.94 seconds. The third place went to the Luxembourg lady rider Odile Gierech, who has already managed to ensure a few top performances in the past two weeks. In the saddle of the mare Kannan Dry DB (Kannan x Balou du Rouet – B: Nicole Bouilliart) she stopped the clock in 62.14 seconds.

Caitlin Liefsoens

What just didn't work out for Caitlin Liefsoens in the 6-year-old horses, she just succeeded in the opening class for the 7-year-old horses. She became the winner here with the mare Aphrodite Van Spalbeek Z (Atomic Z x Flamenco de Semilly – B: Frans Liefsoens), a half-sister of Gudrun Patteet's former Grand Prix horse Sea Coast Pebbles Z (Picasso Z). Liefsoens finished in 60.44 seconds and with performance she managed to beat the competition this time.

For the Dutch rider Joey Alberti there was a second place with the mare Corona Z, a daughter of our chestnut stallion Comilfo Plus Z and Calvaro F.C. who was bred by Huub Janssen. Alberti crossed the finish line in 60.92 seconds and with that he was just half a second short of the victory. The Polish lady rider Malwina Ubanska completed the podium here in third place. Withe the mare Kaloma-N (Great Blue x Padinus x P. Nijssen) she cantered to the finish in 60.98 seconds.
