This penultimate day of the Z-Tour 2022 week 2 started this morning at the Ramiro Z Arena with the class for the 7-year-old horses. In this class the public undoubtedly got a déjà vu feeling, because once again it was Christian Ahlmann who became the winner with the Zangersheide approved stallion Condor One Z. This time, Ahlmann and the son of Codex One Z and Berlin finished in 24.81 seconds, taking their second win in a row. For the Belgian rider Toon Maes there was a second place in 25.51 seconds. He did this in the saddle of the mare Feetje De Bioagrico, a daughter of President and Ohio van de Padenborre. The Dutch rider Bart De Bruijn finished a few hundredths of a second later and thus became third in the saddle of the gelding Petit Gervais v/d Weidekouter. With the son of Emerald van 't Ruytershof en Veron, he reached the finish in 25.65 seconds.
In addition to the various CSI3* classes, there were also two CSIU25 classes scheduled at the Z-Tour of Lanaken today. In the 1.40m main class, it was the Belgian rider Jerome Schmidt who took the win with his 13-year-old gelding Caillou (Cancara x Loran). Schimidt and Caillou were one of the eleven combinations that managed to keep it clear in the basic round and thus obtained a ticket for the jump-off. They managed to reach the finish line in 37.50 seconds and thus again ensured a Belgian victory. The 2nd place went to the French lady rider Charlotte Spaas Levallois with the 13-year-old gelding Jonas du Petit Vivier (Nonstop x Perhaps vh Molenvondel), with whom she finished already third yesterday in the 1.35m class. Spaas finished in 38.44 seconds and came closest to Schmidt. The German lady rider Deborah-Ann Dierkes followed in third place after Spaas-Levallois. She sent the 8-year-old mare Orfana vd Ultrahoeve (Dakar VDL x Jetset D) to the finish in 39.42 seconds. Yesterday Dierkes already finished fourth with this grey mare.
In the CSIU25 1.30m class against the clock there was a complete Belgian podium. Elodie Guillaume took the win here in 58.27 seconds. For this she could count on the 10-year-old mare Mirra, a chestnut daughter of Baedeker x Carthago, with whom she also achieved a third place yesterday. The Belgian rider Mathieu-Maxim Goossens achieved second place for the second day in a row with his 10-year-old gelding Ghostbuster, a son of Indoctro and Chin Chin. Goossens finished in 59.71 seconds. The lady rider Rosalie Lambermont completed the podium in 60.74 seconds. She did this with the 8-year-old mare Eliskell de Kergane, a bay daughter of Kannan and Flipper d'Elle with whom she already won the CSIU25 1.30m class the day before!
At the Almé Z arena there was also a CSI1* 1.25m class against the clock and here too there was an integral Belgian podium. The victory went with great conviction to Philip Gysbrechts who managed to complete the course no less than 3 seconds faster than the other participants. He did this in the saddle of his homebred 9-year-old Zangersheide mare Qute of Greenhill Z. This daughter of Quilimbo en Clintissimo Z was good for third place yesterday and could easily surpass that performance today. For the lady rider Julie Brouwers there was a 2nd place with the 13-year-old mare Jalousie De Litrange CVIII. This daughter of Atlantic and Poor Boy crossed the finish line in 64.29 seconds. The lady rider Julie Pascale Ruant in turn managed to stop the chrono in 65.41 seconds and thus completed the podium. She could also count on a home-bred Zangersheide product for this achievement, namely the 9-year-old mare U See Picobello Z, a daughter of Ugano Sitte and Diamant de Semilly.
Finally, there was also a CSI 1* 1m15 class on the program at the Almé Z arena. In these two phases special, there was again a completely Belgian podium just like in the CSI1* 1.25m class. The lady rider Elodie Guillaume and her 7-year-old gelding Jordan de la Malasude (First Sandro VL Roche x Santander) finished much faster than their competitors, because with a time of 26.67 seconds they finished almost three seconds faster than the number two, Loïs Delbart. In the saddle of the 10-year-old mare Cassandre d'Ick (Nippon d'Elle x Cassini I), Delbart set a time of 29.51 seconds and achieved a nice second place. Geoffrey Cobbaut closed the podium with the 6-year-old Zangersheide bred gelding Tilouis van Duyversputten Z. Cobbaut brought the son of Toulon and Diarado to the finish in 29.78 seconds.
