The Belgian lady rider Elke Appeltans really experiences a great show during this final week of the Z-Tour 2022! A day after she already won both CSIU25 classes, she has now also managed to win the CSIU25 Grand Prix this morning. For this apotheosis of the CSIU25 competition, Appeltans again counted on her 10-year-old Zangersheide mare Alencia Von Hary Z (Action Breaker x Ernest – B: Heinz Mertens) and after a clear round they were one of six combinations that managed to qualify for the jump-off. They came last in the ring again and with a convincing finish time of 29.42 seconds they were the only ones who managed to keep the chrono under the 30 seconds.
With this performance, Appeltans referred the German rider Lucas Wenz to second place. Wenz had set the tone with his 10-year-old gelding Chandon de Blue (Chacco Blue x Landcapitol) as the first starter with a clear round in 31.11 seconds, but in the end had to be satisfied with the first place of honour. The British lady rider Georgia Tame completed the podium here in third place. She also managed to ensure a clear round with the 9-year-old mare Donavaya (Don VHP Z), crossing the finish line in 32.16 seconds.
