Although this season of the Longines Global Champions Tour could not take place due to the corona measures, organizer Jan Tops stuck to his familiar formula this weekend at the Tops International Arena in Valkenswaard. That means that yesterday evening the CSI5 * GP was scheduled and Christian Ahlmann and Dominator 2000 Z (Diamant de Semilly x Cassini I - B: Corthouts & Foriers) confirmed here again! The duo already finished 10th two weeks ago in the CSI5 * GP of Grimaud on the Gulf of St. Tropez and yesterday they remained clear once more and thus managed to qualify for the jump-off together with 11 others. Unfortunately they got a fault in this very fast jump-off which ultimately resulted in an 8th place.
Besides Christian Ahlmann and Dominator 2000 Z, also Pieter Devos and Claire Z (Clearway x Coronado - F: PGMBH Hammes) qualified for the jump-off yesterday evening. Unfortunately they also got a fault along the way and followed in 9th place. Also on Friday, Devos and Claire Z were already placed with an 11th place in the 1.50m / 1.55m main class. Gudrun Patteet and her Sea Coast Pebbles Z (Picasso x Flamenco de Semilly - B: Yves Clercx) became 10th here in this class.
Also in Valkenswaard, Compelling Z (Chellano Z x Carthago Z - B: Carmel Ryan) jumped once again into the spotlight under the saddle of Shane Breen. After their victory in the CSIO3 * GP of Drammen 2 weeks ago, there was a 3rd place in Friday's 1.45m class as well as in yesterday's 1.50m Longines Ranking class.
