The second edition of Waregem Horse Week brought many international top riders to the Gaverbeek in Waregem. It was the world’s current number one Steve Guerdat (Alamo) who added the CSI5* GP to his record. In the final class for seven-year-olds, Michael Jung and Zandro de Laubry Z, a son of Zandor Z x Calato Z, took second place. This combination also became seventh in an earlier class, in which Benny Naessens and Valentina de Sarlar Z (Verdi TN x Obourg) jumped to first place. Marinus den Doelder followed in fifth with Perfect Boy du Faurieu Z (Presley Boy x Caretino).
In the 1.45m classes for older horses, Studbook Zangersheide also gained several top results. In the course against the clock Omer Karaevli became second with Cheston de la Pomme d'Or Z (Chippendale Z x Contendro II). Elisa Strubbe and Scato van de Molenbrug Z (Hunter's Scendix x Charisma I) ended third in the 1.45m leveled jump-off. Frederic Vernaet finished in fifth place with Born To Win Ap Z (Bentley vd Heffinck x Toulon) in the closing speed class.
At a height of 1.35m Koen Vereecke won the opening class with the extremely fast Diadarco van Evendael Z (Diamant de Semilly x Darco). The day after, Koen De Waele was the best with his self-bred Simply Magic KDW Z (Hunter's Scendix x Caretino). Joe Clee became second with Calorie Vh Marienshof Z (Clinton x Libero H) and the clear but slightly slower jump-off of Anouk De Proft and Q Bee vh Dielshof Z (Quidam de Revel x Carthago Z) was rewarded with a third place.
Stéphanie d’Andrimont secured a second place at 1.30m level with the Darco son D-Day de Lison Z. At the classes for six-year-olds, the stable rider of Haras de Laubry Thibaut Huyvaert ended third with Babou de Laubry Z (Ugano Sitte x Skippy II), followed by Laetitia Surin and Calciet EB Z (Cornet Obolensky x Berlin) in fourth.
