Olivier Philippaerts and Cigaret JVH Z become third in Cannes

The Longines Global Champions Tour went to Cannes in France last weekend. Olivier Philippaerts and Cigaret JVH Z performed strongly in Friday’s final class. In this 1.50m leveled ranking class, only six out of the 37 participants made it to the jump-off. Olivier and the ten-year-old descendant of Clinton x Kannan also put down a clear jump-off. Their chrono of 37.14 seconds put them in third place, their best result so far.

Evelina Tovek and Winnetou de la Hamente Z (Winningmood x Socrate de Chivre) also jumped to third place in the 1.45m speed class. Winnetou is a half-brother to Queensland E (Quinto de la Hamente Z) who won a 1.50m class with Frank Schuttert in the recent GCT of Madrid. Sixth place went to Titouan Schumacher with the Zangersheide registered Amak des Brimbelles Z, an eight-year-old son of Amadeus Z x Diamant de Semilly.

The first round of the Global Champions League is a 1.50m/1.55m course against the clock. Grégory Wathelet and Full House Ter Linden Z (Forever d’Arco Ter Linden x Cento) took eighth place. After two rounds, they finished tenth in this show’s GCL ranking.

The French rider Guillaume Canet rode a nine-year-old offspring of Winningmood x Calvin Z in the 1.40m CSI1* GP. Unfortunately they had four points in the first round, but due to a fast chrono they were placed seventh.
