Just like two weeks ago, Zangersheide claimed the victory in the Grand Prix of the Sunshine Tour in Vejer de la Frontera, Spain. This time it was Henk van de Pol who was the best with Looyman Z, a 10-year-old son of Numero Uno out of a Wellington mother. The duo had already shown their good form in recent days with a 4th and 5th place, but yesterday they finished the show with a great win in the closing GP. Van de Pol managed to reach the finish in the 10-man jump-off in 27.48 seconds.
Besides Looyman Z, also Belano Vd Wijnhoeve Z (Berlin x Darco) was again one of the competitors in the jump-off. The brown gelding, who was bred by Danny De Cuyper, managed to win the GP two weeks ago under the saddle of Mariano Martinez Batida and became 3rd this time.
On Thursday during the opening day there was also a 2nd place in the 1.40m class for Cortez Van 't Klein Asdonk Z under the saddle of Ignace Philips de Vuyst. This son of Cornet Obolensky out of an Andiamo Z mother was bred by Eddy Thomas and also finished in 2nd place last week.
Further there was also a 2nd place for Siliva Diego Pardo with Calipso Van De Bergdalhoeve Z (Cento Lano x Landetto) and a 3rd place for Duarte Seabra with Twix V. Overis Z (Toulon x Diamant de Semilly), each time in a 1.35 m class.
