Last Tuesday, two weeks of international showjumping started at the Baltica Tour in Ciecocinko, Poland. The opening days were awarded to the young horses and several Zangersheide horses managed to impress.
For example, during the opening day on Tuesday the full podium of the class for 7-year-old horses turned blue and yellow! Lieven Devos won with E-Risingson Z (picture), a son of Elvis Ter Putte, who was bred by Frederik Cannaert. E-Risingson Z was already very successful as a 5- and 6-year-old under son Loic Cannaert. For example, they won 6 international classes together. Since October last year, however, Lieven Devos took over the reins of the bay gelding and they have since then managed to set 12 international victories on their record!
The 2nd place went to Maxime Harmegnies with Jip Van T&L Z, a son of James van de Kornelishoeve who was bred by Luc Tilleman from T&L NV. This Jip Van T&L Z comes out of the same dam line as Delux Van T&L (Toulon), one of the top horses of Niels Bruynseels. Place 3 was for Cassy Z, who was ridden by Martin Dinesen Neergaard. This son of Caleandro from the breeding of Rudy Van De Bruggen is related to the stallions Harley VDL (Heartbreaker) and Casago (Casall).
Also on Thursday there was a victory in the class for the 7-year-old horses thanks to Sara Vingralkova and Damocles From Second Life Z. This son of Diamant de Semilly was bred by Thierry Hendrikx and last year he also won the 1st qualification for 6-year-old horses during the World Championships for young horses in Lanaken.
Maxime Harmegnies was this time 3rd, but now he could count on Ultimo des Natices Z, a son of Ultra Boy bred by Raphael Docquier. Ricardo Valadas Coelho was in 6th place with L’esperance La Vie Z (Lordanos) from breeder Stal Vonders & Mevr De Rooij, while Radoslaw Zalewski was 9th with Challenge Picobello Z (PKZ Contact Van De Heffinck) bred by Picobello Horses.
