The French Guillaume Foutrier ended the second week of the Vilamoura Atlantic Tour with a win in the three-star main class. With only 5 out of 43 participants who were able to clear the course, the jump-off consisted of only a few horse and rider combinations. Foutrier and his ten-year-old partner Fairness Hero Z (Flipper d'Elle and Calvaro Z) were way ahead of the rest. They were exactly two seconds faster than number two Ellen Whitaker. In Friday’s GP qualifier, they also managed to jump clear to a sixth place. Back then, the win went to the Irishman Michael Pender with Casanova van Overis Z (Casper van Erpekom Z x Nonstop).
Both on Friday, Saturday and Sunday classes at 1.35m level took place. Thierry Goffinet, accompanied by Constanze 57 (Contefino x Carinue), won Friday’s class with two phases. For Valery De Menditte and Carmen du Toultia Z (HH Chopin of the Broy x Eros Platière) there was a third place in Saturday’s class against the clock. In Sunday’s speed class, Laura Renwick took fourth place with Novita Jovial Z (Nabab de Reve x Carthago Z).
