Double victory on Friday in St. Tropez!

Under the French sun of St. Tropez, last week there was another show at four-star level. Friday was a high day for the Zangersheide studbook, as both CSI4 * classes were won by a Z-horse.

The victory in the 1.50m class was for Emilio Bicocchi with Evita Sg Z, a daughter of Verdi TN out of a Codexco mother who also jumped into the spotlight last Sunday. Then, they placed 3rd in the CSI4 * GP. This time, in a 20-man jump-off, the combination stopped the clock in 36.71 seconds and thus had more than a second ahead of the rest of the competitors. Furthermore, in this class there was also a 3rd place for Titouan Schumacher with Atome Z (Amadeus Z Brimbelles x Toulon), with whom he already won three CSI3 * Grand Prix’s last year, including that of our beloved Lanaken, and a 6th place for Maikel van der Vleuten with Beauville Z (Bustique x Jumpy des Fontaines).

Later that day there was a victory in the 1.45m class for David Will with Darius de Kezeg Z, a son of Darco out of a Heartbreaker mother. They had already finished 7th on Thursday during the opening day and this time they were stronger than the rest of the competitors. Place 4 was here for Bertram Allen with Gun Powder (Econoom van het Lindenhof x Caretano Z), who was born at Stal Aegten as Eldorado AEG Z.

The 10th place in this class was for Cassius Clay Vdv Z, the son of Calvino Z who won the Sires Of The World in September at the World Championships for Young Horses in Lanaken under the saddle of Rob Heijligers last year. He has been jumping with Roger Yves Bost for several months now and on top of his 10th place today, he also finished 8th yesterday.

But also this afternoon in the CSI4 * GP there were some Z-rankings. Bertram Allen was in 4th place with Dancing Queen Z (Dulf van den Bisschop x Quintessence Z). Allen steered the breeding product of Bass Huybregts clear to the finish in the jump-off, but ended up next to the podium. Titouan Schumacher finished 8th with Atome Z and Pieter Devos was 11th with Claire Z (Clearway x Coronado). To end the show, Schumacher finished 5th with Amak des Brimbelles (Amadeus Z Brimbelles x Diamant de Semilly) in the CSI2 * GP.
