Last weekend on French soil, everybody gathered once more in St. Tropez for a new edition of the Hubside Jumping. Yesterday afternoon the show was concluded there with the CSI4* GP and that resulted in a top 5 placing for the Portuguese rider Luis Ferreira with the 11-year-old grey mare Cerruti van ter Hulst Z, a daughter of Cassini i and Corrado I who was bred by Bernard Duvillier. Ferreira and Cerruti van ter Hulst Z were one of the 14 combinations that qualified for the jump-off and achieved a 5th place after a clear round in 44.65 seconds. We also saw a second Zangersheide horse in the top 10 of the ranking during this CSI4* GP with the 9-year-old grey stallion Dawa de Greenbay Z (Diarado x Chilling). Ridden by Zoe Conter, the breeding product of Stephane Chantot became 8th after a pole fell out of the cups in the jump-off.
Also during the 1.45m main class on Saturday we saw a few Z horses reach the top of the ranking. For example, the Swedish lady rider Petronella Andersson took second place with the 11-year-old mare Cassina Z, a daughter of Casado Van 't Gelutt and Lux with whom she won the CSI2* GP of Knokke in July. Together with 11 other combinations, Andersson and the breeding product of Paul Buckinx qualified for the jump-off and in that they again managed to ensure a clear round. One of those 11 other combinations that also qualified for the jump-off was Gregory Wathelet with the 10-year-old mare Berline du Maillet Z, a daughter of Berlin and Action Breaker who was bred by Delphine Mambour. After Wathelet and Berline du Maillet Z managed to win the CSI2* GP of Valkenswaard in August, this time they were good for 5th place in the ranking.
But in the past few days there was also a blue/yellow victory in St. Tropez and this was achieved by the Swiss rider Martin Fuchs with the 7-year-old chestnut mare Diva van het Cauterhof Z, a daughter of Dieu Merci van T&L and Nagano who was bred by Spiessens & Co BVBA. In the 1.40m class on Saturday, Fuchs and Diva van het Cauterhof Z beat the competition with a clear 2nd phase in 36.39 seconds.
Finally, the French rider Simon Delestre managed to achieve a 5th place twice during the 1.45m classes of the CSI4* competition. On Thursday during the opening day he did this with the 10-year-old stallion Tinka's Hero Z (Tinka's Boy x Caretino – B: Vincent Jourdan & Luc Henry) and on Friday with the 8-year-old gelding Dexter Fontenis Z (Diarado x Voltaire – B: Sky Horses SCRI).
