Almost 55,000 euros for embryo Vigo d'Arsouilles out of DSP Alice!

After the Quality Auction in September, November is traditionally the month in which Stoeterij Zangersheide comes out with her annual Broodmares & Embryo Auction. In recent weeks, a particularly strong collection was once again put together consisting of five very interesting broodmares and seventeen embryos from the best dam lines in the world.

Topper of the evening was the frozen embryo of DSP Alice, who combines the genes of two World Champions. Sire Vigo d'Arsouilles became World Champion in Kentucky in 2010 under the saddle of Philippe Le Jeune and dam DSP Alice, a daughter of Askari, became World Champion in Tryon in 2018 with the German lady rider Simone Blum. Many customers showed interest in this exceptional combination and in the end it was a German buyer who was able to clame the auction topper for an amount of of 54,500 euros!

An amount of 28,000 euros was paid for two embryos tonight. For example, a Belgian buyer invested in the female embryo of Heartbreaker out of the mare Geena van 't Roosakker, the daughter of Darco who jumped at 1.55m level and who has already produced several GP horses with Kheros van 't Hoogeinde and Jivaro Imperio Egipcio. The same amount was paid from Italy for the female embryo 'Hieperdepiep de Muze', where the blood of Chacco Blue is combined with that of Shindler de Muze. The grandmother of this embryo is the mare Boyante de Muze (Kashmir van Schuttershof), who jumped at the highest level with the Italian lady rider Carla Cimolai.

Among the broodmares, the most money was paid for the 8-year-old grey mare Cocoona, a daughter of Berlin in combination with Heartbreaker and also the full sister of none other than H&M Extra, the former GP horse of Olivier Philippaerts. A tough bidding duel was also fought for Cocoona and she eventually found her new owner in Belgium. And the 16-year-old grey mare Geisha Van Orshof, Lorenzo de Luca's former GP horse, also changed hands tonight. This daughter of Cabrio Z in combination with Parco was sold for an amount of 25,500 euros and is moving to a Polish customer.

Zangersheide.auction would like to thank all bidders, buyers and sellers for their confidence and is already looking forward to its Online Auction Young Horses from 17 to 20 December 2022.
