Walter Lelie and Qalista DN win second qualifier 6-year-olds
The second World Championship qualifier of the 6-year-olds was won by Walter Lelie with Qalista DN (Emerald x Landetto). Yesterday the Belgian rider finished 199th with one jumping fault, today he went clear in the fastest time.
The top three finished in 63 seconds, whilst the time allowed was 78 seconds. Dutchman Hessel Hoekstra (VDL Legodermus PP, Harley x Clinton) finished 154th yesterday with one rail down, today he took revenge and finished in second place.
German rider Hannes Ahlmann was second in the seven-year-old class and third in the six-year-olds, with Tiepolo 3 (Toulon x Cassini), the one-year older full brother of Tokyo 4. In the second qualification a total of 57 six-year-olds stayed clear.
For Belgium, two more riders joined the top rankings: Melanie Gelin came eighth with Freeman Heureka Z (For Pleasure x Ferdi TN). Nathan Budd and Coldplay des Rosiers Z (Cornet Obolensky x Heartbreaker) set 11th time.
