Another two victories for Elke Appeltans!

The young Belgian lady rider Elke Appeltans is in a strong shape during this opening week of the Z-Tour 2022! After she already managed to ensure two victories yesterday, she added two more to the list today by writing both classes of the CSIU25 competition on her list of honors.

The day started this morning at our central Ratina Z Arena with the 1.40m main class of the CSIU25 competition and Appeltans became the final laureate with the 10-year-old Zangersheide mare Alencia Von Hary Z (Action Breaker x Ernest). Appeltans and Alencia Von Hary Z were one of the fifteen combinations that cleared the basic round and qualified for the jump-off. They impressed again, because with a finish time of 35.82 seconds they finished almost one and a half seconds ahead of the competition.

Second place went to the Danish lady rider Philippa Wildfang Linde with the 12-year-old mare Fafira W (VDL Groep Zagreb x VDL Sheraton). As the last starter, Wildfang Linde made an ultimate attempt to knock Appeltans off the throne, but with a finish time of 37.21 seconds, she clearly had to acknowledge her superiority in the Belgian lady rider. The Dutch rider Bas Moerings was good for third place in the ranking. He was sitting in the saddle of the 8-year-old stallion Jesther (Cardento VDL x Guidam) with whom he set a time of 37.55 seconds.

Fourth victory

A little after the clock of 3:00 pm there was a 1.30m class on the program this afternoon at the Almé Z Arena for the CSIU25 competition and Elke Appeltans was able to outsmart the competition in this class as well. In a class against the clock, she and the 8-year-old mare Enya Ems van de Padenborre Z (Etoile M x Edjaz Van 't Merelsnest) rushed to the finish line in 58.11 seconds and thus set the counter on four victories!

The Italian lady rider Francesca Arcaini followed in second place with the 10-year-old mare Circee de La Yaye (Norman Pre Noir x Diableur). She also kept all the poles in the cups, but in 59.68 seconds it took her almost one and a half seconds longer than Appeltans. Finally, third place went to Denmark again and that's what lady rider Astrid Lund Wisholm took care of. She and the 9-year-old gelding Guardiola 4 (Grey Top x Grosso Z) stopped the clock in 60.74 seconds.
