Italy on top in first qualification for 7-year-old horses
201 combinations appeared at the start in the first qualification for 7-year old horses in which no less than 57 combinations noted a double clear round. This two-phase class over a height of 1m40, designed by Eugène Mathy, clearly was no problem for Lorenzo de Luca! Together with Malissa de Muze (Vigo d'Arsouilles - Breeder: Joris de Brabander & Heli de Baere) he stopped the time in 31.18 sec, being 1 hunderdth of a second faster than Katrin Eckermann! The German lady rider could count on Daddy's Destiny (Comme Il Faut - Breeder: Lisa Frohberg) to claim this second place. Also the third place went to Germany thanks to Patrick Stühlmeyer and Diaron Old (Diarado - Breeder: Manuela Lachnit). They set a time of 32.02 seconds in the second phase.
Fourth place went to Great-Britain, with Guy Williams aboard Chilli finishing in 32.06 sec. This 7-year-old mare by Colestus (Breeder: Erich Schoch) already became World Champion in 2017 and claimed silver last year! Harrie Smolders and Calina (Ci Ci Senjor Ask - Breeder Aage Lauritzen) finished fifth in 32.55 seconds.
