Cicero Z and Cabrio Z play first fiddle in Marl

The Z-Festival’s German version had its third edition in Marl. With another seventy foals and just as many happy breeders, people had a pleasant time at the Rohmann family in the heart of Westphalia. The first Z-finalists of 2019 are known and we would like to introduce them to you.

Cenith PS Z was the very first foal to enter the arena and was also crowned winner of the fillies. This daughter of Cicero Z x Namelus R was bred by PS stables from Gemert in the Netherlands. The grand dam of Cenith PS Z is also the dam of SFN Zenith, who both became World champion, European champion and won the GP of Aachen with Jeroen Dubbeldam.

Dominator Z also earned a place on the podium with Quadrilla Deluxe GP Z (sd: Quidam de Revel). Her name already reveals she comes out of the same dam line as the extremely talented stallion Quadrillo, who unfortunately died at a young age. The silver medal was awarded to the Böning family from Langwedel-Pohlsee.

The third place went to Trajana Z (Tangelo vd Zuuthoeve) from breeder Patrick Kolberg from Murchin. Dam Cassina (Casssini I) is a half-sister to the approved stallion Concept 2 (1.50m with Torben Köhlbrandt) and also gave the approved stallion Diassino (Diarado).

Number four Evita Z is a daughter of Emerald x Cassus 2, born by Ludger Palster from Metelen. She comes out of a relatively small dam line, out of which also Nico 1427 (1.40m with Neele Glinz), Landos 33 (1.60m with Yuka Watanabe) and the approved Carismo (Calypso II) come from.

Cicero Z provided both the winner and the fifth place in the class for fillies, with Frank Gerber's C-Felizia Z in five. Dam Brittany W (For Pleasure) already gave a 1.40m horse with the seven-year-old Cero’s Boy and is the half-sister to many international show jumpers. Out of her eight half-brothers and half-sisters, five of them jump 1.50m or higher. These include Quick Silver B Z (1.50m with Federico Gonzalo Daners Bidegain), Da Silva Hero (1.50m with Laura Kraut) and SIEC Royal Star (1.60m with Cameron Hanley).

The colt who took the final victory was Classic Rouge, bred by Dirk Peters from Mönchengladbach. Classic Rouge is a son of the four-year-old Classico TN (Cornet Obolensky) x Accorado I. Out of his direct dam line come the seven-year-old Concouleur Z (1.40m with Douglas Lindelöw) and Corradina (1.45m with Hilda Öhman).

Cabrio Z became second with Cassionatus GP Z, an embryo out of Quidam Perle (Quidam de Revel) who is the dam of Cassionato (1.60m with Michael Whitaker) and Call Girl 5 (1.50m with Marcus Westergren) as well. So just as in the series for fillies, Gestüt Pohlsee was again good for silver in the class for colts.

Hof Brüning from Suestedt-Ochtmannien bred the bronze winner with El Salvador Z. This offspring of Emerald x Colbert GTI is the half-brother to the Westphalian licensed Cairo Cajano and the seven-year-old Chades of Gray (1.30m with Dirk Schröder).

T On Z, by Taloubet Z x Stakkato Gold, finished fourth. Breeder Karl-Heinz Wellmann from Bippen also bred his grand dam CHS Choco (Contendro I), who jumped at 1.50m level with the young lady rider Fiona Meier.

The fifth place of honor went to another son of Cabrio Z, this time to Carpino Gold W Z from Stephan and Finn Weischer from Emsdetten.
