On the most beautiful stage - the FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championships for Young Horses - more than 40 young stallions appeared in the ring this morning for free jumping at the Zangersheide stallion selection. The stallion selection committee made a first selection: 20 of the 44 stallions presented may return tomorrow for the second round of free jumping.
Under great public interest, the international stallion jury, consisting of Heinz Meyer from Germany, Luc Tilleman from Belgium and Eric Levallois from France, judged the 44 young stallions. Four 2.5-year-olds and 16 three-year-olds the jury wants to see again in the ring tomorrow.
From 11.00 am on Saturday, the 20 selected stallions will return, after which the jury will announce which stallions will receive the coveted Z-level licence.
